Joe Pozzuoli came from Naples with one idea: the perfect New York slice. In 1975, he opened Joe's Pizza at 7 Carmine Street in Greenwich Village — and the city has never been the same.

The formula is simple. Fresh dough made every morning. San Marzano tomatoes. Real mozzarella. A hot deck oven. Nothing else. The slice you get today is the same slice Joe made in 1975.
